SeerrClient stands on the shoulders of several excellent open-source projects and services. Thank you to everyone who builds and maintains them.
Seerr is the active media request platform that SeerrClient is built for. The Seerr team’s work on API compatibility, Jellyfin + Plex support, and active maintenance makes building a cross-backend client possible.
Jellyseerr
Section titled “Jellyseerr”Jellyseerr — the project that directly inspired SeerrClient. Jellyseerr proved that a Jellyfin-native Seerr fork had a large audience and filled a real gap in the self-hosted media ecosystem.
Overseerr
Section titled “Overseerr”Overseerr — the original media request manager. Overseerr established the API patterns, request workflow, and overall UX that the entire ecosystem builds on. Without Overseerr, there would be no Jellyseerr or Seerr.
TMDB (The Movie Database)
Section titled “TMDB (The Movie Database)”Movie and TV show metadata, poster images, backdrop images, and cast information are all provided by The Movie Database (TMDB).
This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
Plex — OAuth authentication support. SeerrClient uses Plex’s pin-based OAuth flow to authenticate Plex users without handling Plex credentials directly.
Jellyfin
Section titled “Jellyfin”Jellyfin — open-source media server and the backbone of the Jellyfin authentication and watchlist sync features in Jellyseerr and Seerr.
Emby — media server with authentication support via the Jellyseerr and Seerr media server login flow.
Apple Developer Technologies
Section titled “Apple Developer Technologies”The SeerrClient iOS app is built with Swift and SwiftUI — Apple’s first-party frameworks for building native apps on iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. Authentication uses ASWebAuthenticationSession for Plex OAuth. Credentials are stored in the iOS Keychain.
SeerrClient is built with care by Frost Forge Labs Inc.
