Signing In

After connecting your server, SeerrClient shows the sign-in screen. The available authentication methods depend on your server’s configuration — SeerrClient reads your server’s public settings and only shows the methods your server has enabled.

Sign in with the username and password you use on the Seerr web UI.

  1. Select the Local tab on the sign-in screen
  2. Enter your username and password
  3. Tap Sign In

This works for any account type — local accounts, imported Plex/Jellyfin accounts that have been given a local password, and admin accounts.

Sign in using your Plex account. This uses a pin-based OAuth flow — no need to enter your Plex password in the app.

  1. Select the Plex tab on the sign-in screen
  2. Tap Sign In with Plex
  3. Your browser opens and you are redirected to Plex’s authentication page
  4. Approve the sign-in request in your browser (or the Plex app if prompted)
  5. Return to SeerrClient — it will detect the approval automatically within a few seconds

Your Plex credentials are never stored in SeerrClient. Only the session token returned by your Seerr server is saved.

Sign in using your Jellyfin or Emby media server credentials.

  1. Select the Jellyfin tab on the sign-in screen
  2. Enter your Jellyfin/Emby username and password
  3. Tap Sign In

This method is available when your Seerr server (Jellyseerr or Seerr) is configured with a Jellyfin or Emby backend.

SeerrClient stores your credentials securely in the iOS Keychain when you sign in. On next launch, the app restores your session automatically — you will not need to sign in again.

The Remember Me setting is enabled by default and can be toggled on the sign-in screen. If you disable it, SeerrClient will not save credentials and you will need to sign in manually each time.

To sign out and clear your stored credentials, see Profile & Settings → Sign Out.

SeerrClient uses a three-layer session restore:

  1. Session cookie — if a valid connect.sid session cookie is still active, you are signed in silently without any credentials exchange
  2. Keychain re-auth — if the session has expired but credentials are saved, SeerrClient re-authenticates silently in the background
  3. Login form — if neither of the above succeeds, you are shown the sign-in screen

This means the app starts up and gets you into your content with minimal friction, while still requiring explicit action (Sign Out) to clear access.
