Connecting Your Server
SeerrClient connects to your Seerr-compatible server using a URL you provide. The app detects your backend type automatically — you do not need to specify whether you are running Jellyseerr, Overseerr, or Seerr.
Adding a server
Section titled “Adding a server”- Open SeerrClient — on first launch you will see the Server List screen
- Tap the + button in the top-right corner
- Enter your server URL in the text field
- Tap Connect — SeerrClient will probe the server and confirm the connection
- If the connection is successful, a confirmation card shows the server name, backend type, and version
- Tap Save & Continue to add the server and proceed to sign in
Supported URL formats
Section titled “Supported URL formats”SeerrClient accepts any of the following formats:
| Format | Example |
|---|---|
| IP address (port implied 5055/5056) | 192.168.1.100 |
| IP address with explicit port | 192.168.1.100:5055 |
| Hostname | jellyseerr.local |
| Local domain | seerr.home |
| FQDN with HTTPS | https://requests.yourdomain.com |
| IP with HTTPS | https://192.168.1.100:8080 |
You can include or omit http:// or https:// — SeerrClient normalises the URL automatically.
HTTP and HTTPS
Section titled “HTTP and HTTPS”Both HTTP and HTTPS are fully supported. For home networks without a certificate, plain HTTP works fine. For remotely accessible servers, HTTPS is strongly recommended.
Self-signed certificates
Section titled “Self-signed certificates”If your server uses a self-signed TLS certificate, SeerrClient handles this using a TOFU (Trust On First Use) model — the same approach used by SSH:
- When SeerrClient encounters an untrusted certificate during connection, it shows you the certificate’s fingerprint
- You can review it and choose to Trust the certificate
- Once trusted, the certificate is saved on device and future connections proceed automatically
- If the certificate changes unexpectedly (e.g. it was replaced on the server), SeerrClient will prompt you to review and re-trust the new one
This means you do not need to install a certificate in iOS Settings — just tap Trust in the SeerrClient prompt.
Multiple servers
Section titled “Multiple servers”SeerrClient supports multiple saved servers. Each server is stored independently with its own credentials. To add a second server, return to the Server List and tap + again.
To switch between servers, go to Profile → Switch Server / Account.
Removing a server
Section titled “Removing a server”On the Server List screen, swipe left on a server row and tap Delete to remove it. This also clears any saved credentials for that server.
