macOS

Octopus Explorer for Mac is a native SwiftUI macOS target in the same project as iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV — not Mac Catalyst, not a phone layout stretched to a window.

Status

In development — not submitted. The native Mac target exists in the Xcode project (macOS 14+) but is not in App Store review. Only iPhone / iPad are in review. Until a Mac listing exists, Apple Silicon Macs can run the iPad binary via Designed for iPad, or you can build from source.

What’s in the in-progress Mac app

• Discover / Search / Media detail — two-pane detail on wide windows
• Requests — Table plus inspector, not the iPhone list
• Watchlist — grid with a Mac-sized card floor
• Profile — grouped form; theme and About live in Settings (⌘,)
• Multi-server — same saved servers and Keychain credentials as the rest of the Apple apps
• Local, Jellyfin, and Plex sign-in

Requirements

• macOS 14.0 or later
• Apple Silicon or Intel (native target; Designed for iPad is Apple Silicon only)

Related platforms

Same intended bundle ID com.frostforgelabs.OctopusExplorer as iPhone and iPad. Adding macOS to the App Store record has not happened.
